When the temperature rises, our dogs feel it too. Whether you’re heading out on a Canicross adventure or just enjoying a sunny garden day, keeping your dog cool, hydrated, and mentally enriched is key.

One of the easiest (and most fun) ways to do that? Homemade frozen dog lollies.

They’re simple to make, cost-effective, and you can tailor them to your dog’s taste, diet, and training needs. Plus, they double up as enrichment—win-win.

🥜 Peanut Butter & Banana Pops

You’ll need:

  • Mashed banana

  • Xylitol-free peanut butter

  • Optional: plain yogurt

Method:Mix together, spoon into moulds or ice cube trays, and freeze.

Why it works:Great as a high-value reward, especially for training or recall reinforcement.

🫐 Berry Yogurt Cooling Cubes

Great for antioxidants + gut health

You'll Need:

  • Blueberries or strawberries

  • Plain yogurt

  • Splash of water

How:Blend or mash, freeze into cubes.

Pro tip: Drop a whole blueberry in each mould for texture.

🍗 Savoury Bone Broth Lollies

Perfect for picky dogs or less sweet tooth

You'll Need:

  • Pet Safe Bone broth (we recommend Bella & Duke)

  • Small bits of carrot and freeze dry chicken

How:Pour broth into moulds, add bits, freeze.

Why it works: smells like a full meal → high value reward.

🍎 Apple & Carrot Crunch Pops

Fresh + crunchy vibe

You'll Need:

  • Grated apple (no seeds)

  • Grated carrot

  • Water

How:Mix and freeze.

Nice bonus: good for gentle dental stimulation.

🍉 Watermelon Hydration Pops

Super refreshing + low calorie

You'll Need:

  • Seedless watermelon (no rind)

How:Blend or cube and freeze.

Perfect for: hot days or post-run cool-down.

⚠️ Quick Safety Notes (important but quick)

  • NO xylitol (in peanut butter = toxic)

  • Avoid grapes, raisins, chocolate, artificial sweeteners

  • Go easy on dairy if your dog is sensitive

  • Introduce new treats slowly

🐾 Final Thoughts
