At Pickles Pet Pantry, we care about more than just whatās trendingāwe care about your petās long-term health. Thatās why we do not stock 80/10/10 raw meals, and only sell products that are classed as nutritionally complete, based on established, science-backed standards. We won't make claims that aren't

1. ā Complete Means Nutritionally Balanced
We only stock raw foods that meet the FEDIAF (European Pet Food Industry Federation) nutritional guidelines. These define the exact levels of essential nutrients your pet needs:
Vitamins (A, D, E, B-complex)
Minerals (calcium, phosphorus, zinc, etc.)
Essential fatty acids
Amino acids like taurine and arginine
An 80/10/10 formulation (80% meat, 10% bone, 10% offal) may resemble a prey animal, but it is not nutritionally complete and fails to meet all FEDIAF requirementsāparticularly in trace nutrients, fibre, and essential vitamins.
2. š Guesswork Isnāt Good Enough
Raw feeding should not be about averaging out nutrients over time.80/10/10 diets often require pet owners to add supplements or rotate proteins in an attempt to ābalanceā the diet ā but this can lead to long-term deficiencies or excesses.Pets need consistency and accuracy, not trial and error.

3. š¾ We Trial What We Stock
Before anything hits our shelves, itās tested by our Animal CEO panel ā Fred, Truffy, Winston, Ary, and more. We only stock foods we believe in, and that includes making sure theyāre complete and balanced. Whether raw, dry, or wet ā your pet deserves a fully balanced meal, and nutrition should never be left to guesswork.
4. š Traceable, Regulated, Made to Standard
The UK raw pet food sector operates under UK Food Hygiene Regulations (852/2004) and is regulated by the Animal and Plant Health Agency (APHA).We only source from manufacturers who:
Operate DEFRA-licensed facilities
Follow strict hygiene and pathogen control procedures
Provide full ingredient transparency
Design recipes with veterinary nutrition input to meet FEDIAF profiles
5. ā ļø Preventing Long-Term Health Issues
Feeding an unbalanced diet can lead to serious health consequences over time, including:
Nutritional secondary hyperparathyroidism (from calcium/phosphorus imbalance)
Vitamin A/D deficiencies
Mal Nutrition/Obesity
Poor coat quality, gastrointestinal upset, and skeletal issues
We believe food should support health, not risk it. Thatās why we only recommend balanced, species-appropriate diets that meet your petās needs in full.

š¶ In Summary:
We donāt stock 80/10/10 or complementary raw products, because they are:
Not classed as complete diets under FEDIAF
Not nutritionally balanced without additional supplementation
Not in line with our commitment to safe, consistent pet nutrition
If itās not complete, we wonāt sell it.If we wouldnāt feed it to our own pets, we wouldnāt offer it to yours.
