Service Description

Trek-2-Run is the ideal starting point for anyone looking to begin their Canicross journey in a gentle, confidence-building and enjoyable way. This ongoing group is designed for complete beginners as well as those returning after a break, offering a supportive environment you can stay in for as long as you wish. There’s no rush, no pressure, and no fixed timeline — just steady progress at a pace that suits both you and your dog. Each session blends purposeful trekking, power-walking, and small intervals of light jogging, helping you build fitness and teamwork gradually. Throughout your Trek-2-Run experience, we’ll guide you through all the essential basics of Canicross. You’ll learn safe and effective warm-ups and cool-downs, correct harness fitting, appropriate equipment use, and comfortable running posture. We’ll also teach you how to communicate clearly with your dog using simple cues, ensuring you both understand the foundations of working as a team on the trail. A big focus of Trek-2-Run is helping your dog learn how to perform confidently, happily, and safely. We introduce key commands such as directional cues, controlled pulling, pacing, and maintaining focus around distractions. Whether your dog is brand-new to structured activity or already enjoys outdoor adventures, we’ll help you develop good habits and positive behaviours right from the start. All routes are carefully planned to ensure they’re fun, safe, and suitable for developing Canicross teams. Expect scenic trails, varied terrain, and friendly guidance throughout. Every session is designed to help you grow in confidence while deepening the bond between you and your dog. Because this is an ongoing group, you’re welcome to take part for as long as you like — whether that’s a few weeks, a full season, or indefinitely. And when you feel ready, there’s the opportunity to progress into our Cani-Run group, where you’ll take the next step into more structured Canicross running sessions. There’s never any pressure; we’ll support you every step of the way. Trek-2-Run is all about learning, bonding and discovering the joy of Canicross at a pace that truly works for you and your dog.
